A service is a program which runs in the background of the operating system and carries out a certain task on demand of a certain event. By means of Password Safe this would be to send the data which the client has requested encrypted.

 

A service itself does not have a user interface. For the configuration and administration of the service there is, however, a separate program.

 

Alternatively the service can also be started, stopped or also deleted with the Service Control Manager (service manager).
