In Version 6 there are three different database concepts. Normally the choice of the edition depends on the usage and the number of users.
•Singleuser (1 user, not network-compatible, only database login)
•Multiuser (1-20 users, database login and user login)
•Client-/Server (1-n users, database login and user login)
Which databases you can use depends on which edition you have bought.
•Standard Edition -> Singleuser
•Professional Edition -> Singleuser, Multiuser
•Enterprise Edition -> Singleuser, Multiuser and Client-/Server
Advice for Standard Edition: Through the new concept the Standard Edition of Password Safe version 6 is no longer network-compatible, but has therefore been improved in functionality. Customers who use the Standard Edition of Password Safe version 6 in the network can upgrade to Professional Edition cheaply. |
Advice for multi user operation (Professional and Enterprise Edition): If you want use the professional or enterprise edition with more than 20 users, this is only possible with the enterprise server. Please notice that the database account in the multi user operation has to be started with the same name on all clients. |
