What are applications?

Applications are programs or also internet pages that have a login.

How can I automatically enter data in my browser (Internet Explorer) or also in an application (program)?

While you are already fill in the URL when starting a new record, Password Safe automatically generates an appropriate application for the use in the quick access. But without the automatic entry so far. To set up the automatic entry to a record you can add a new application at the record via links. If Password Safe should already have started an application automatically under the links, you can keep this one and accordingly edit and use it.

Via the link-up function you can assign an application to several records. That way data is no longer recorded doubly. Therefore at a change only one entry has to be adapted. As many applications as you want can be recorded and set up.

You can call up the management window via "edit" -> "administrate applications". Here you can start new applications, edit existing ones or delete them. The already existing applications can be linked with a record via the links ("edit record" -> "links").

Application templates

Via "add applications" -> "download further applications online" you can import application templates predefined by us. These can be linked with existing or new records then. Furthermore you can see how to set up applications manually by looking at the setup of the application templates and maybe adapt to own applications.

Application templates can also be allocated automatically. Every template is equipped with certain "tags". Enter "GMX" in the description of a newly recorded password, so the template for the automatic password entry of GMX will be suggested automatically when saving the password. If you visit the internet page of GMX the next time the user name and the password will automatically be entered.

Import/export applications

It is also possible to export applications from a database and to import them again to another database. Therefore just select the applications in the list, a multiple selection is also possible here, and choose "export application" in the context menu.

If you want to import applications you have to notice that already existing applications with the same name are overwritten. Therefore an update of applications is also possible.
