Readout/import users and groups

After the configuration of the gateway you can read out users and groups from the Active Directory. You can read out the whole Active Directory and afterwards add the users and groups you want to import via Drag and Drop.

In the upper array of the Active Directory window you have several buttons and functions available:

Read out all Active Directory objects

Display information on selected Active Directory list element

Open/collapse list structure

Update (reimport)

Active Directory access - LDAP

By means of the LDAP access you can read out the whole structure and highlight for the import to Password Safe via Drag&Drop or with the blue arrow button. In the following screenshot the Organisation Unit (OU) "SBSUsers" has been moved to the Password Safe list under administrators via Drag&Drop.

Active Directory search:

By means of the search you can directly search for users or groups. The LDAP search also supports a Wildcard search, for example "meinesuche*". Afterwards you can add the users or groups again to the Password Safe list.

In the upper array of the Active Directory Window you can change between a user or group outlook with the buttons.

Read out entire Active Directory:

With the button "read out all Active Directory objects" you can read out the entire Active Directory and afterwards import the accordant users and groups. Please notice that this function should only be carried out for smaller (< 2000 objects) Active Directories.

Search for an Active Directory user or group:

Enter the complete desired user name of the user or a group to search for it. Confirm with the button "search" to start the search. According to the choice of search you will be asked if for example the users to the group should also be read out. Afterwards you can add/delete the users via Drag and Drop or with the button with the blue arrow.

Update Active Directory users and groups or add new users or groups:

According to the license packet new user can be added at every time or already existing users can be updated. To do so drag the desired users or groups to the Password Safe list. If a user or a group should already exist you can update, add or completely reimport it.

If you have highlighted all required users and groups in the Password Safe list for import you can start the import by pushing the button "import". Afterwards these will be listed in the right management further configured and used.

Notice:

If your Active Directory should contain more than 2000 objects it is suggestive to determine users or groups directly with the "search" function. Please notice that the Active Directory authentication is not suitable for a VPN connection, because for this purpose the performance is only rarely sufficient.
